Job Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works on the programming, implementation and troubleshooting of site PLCs, robots and HMI. Evaluates current manufacturing equipment/controls/robotics, resolves problems and makes recommendations for improvement. This includes performing preventative maintenance of production and support equipment. Writes and edits machine control programs to interface process equipment to safely operate production equipment (i.e., program light guards) and avoid malfunctions. Assists in setting up, maintaining programming, electrical components and schematic standards Assists in proper maintenance of all programming software, application files and programming hardware. Improves equipment reliability and uptime related to automation and controls Implements Continuous Improvement ideas related to automation and robotics as assigned and comply with automotive specifications. Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical systems. Executes testing and run off parameters to verify machine operating as designed. Understands the necessary programs to integrate multiple different programs, control data, and user data inputs as part of overall system functionality. Controls, configures and interfaces applications for a large variety of devices. Assumes responsibility for machine safety and building equipment in respective area. Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals. Works with internal and external resources to ensure all project needs/expectations are met.

Familiarity/Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC’s, 6 axis industrial robots, and Fanuc Robotics General mechanical systems knowledge and industrial electricity skills Ability to use a laptop to connect and monitor PLC programming for the purpose of troubleshooting machinery function issues. Ability to manually operate industrial robotics to address machinery stoppages. Ability to read complex industrial controls wiring diagrams and use these with a multi-meter to troubleshoot issues. Familiarity with variable speed drives, setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred 2 to 4 years of work experience in a related field Excellent communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to determine manufacturing needs to develop automation processes Ability to interpret and implement specifications
