Position Summary
Daifuku is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Controls Resident Site Support Engineer to provide on-site support for automated material handling systems. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of control systems at a customer facility post go live. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical liaison between Daifuku and the customer, ensuring system reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Provide on-site support for PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and field devices in a high-throughput automated environment.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls-related issues in real-time to minimize system downtime.Collaborate with software, mechanical, and project engineering teams to implement system updates and improvements. Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for optimization or preventive maintenance.Maintain detailed documentation of system changes, troubleshooting steps, and performance metrics.Support commissioning and testing of new equipment or system upgrades.Train and mentor customer maintenance staff on system operation and troubleshooting techniques.Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all site activities.Act as a technical ambassador for Daifuku, maintaining a strong relationship with the customer and representing the company professionally. QualificationsEducation & Experience Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience, such as an internship, with the material handling industryExperience with sortation and conveyance equipment or robotics design preferredExperience with Allen Bradley control software and tools preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Knowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADAKnowledge of controls/controllers and PLCs preferredAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesStrong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, and field wiring.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with customers and internal teams.Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
