Job Purpose

As the Automation and Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems and control processes across our organization. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and the ability to lead a team of skilled technicians and engineers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Manage the development and implementation of automation and control strategies to improve efficiency, productivity and quality. Oversee the installation, configuration and maintenance of control systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements. Support Production Operations with control related expertise within the department. Lead and influence a team of control specialists across 3 shifts Develop and implement training programs to ensure the competency of the automation and controls team. Design, program, troubleshoot and modify controls for new machines and retrofits with the latest control’s technology. Assist in solving problems involving process and control systems Lead projects from concept through installation Work along side Machine Designers and Project Managers to ensure projects are accurate and completed to expectations.

Education & Competencies Required/Preferred:

Must possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic with a passion to deliver the expected results Bachelor’s degree in electrical controls or equivalent work experience Leadership and management experience Minimum of 10 years engineering leadership experience Automation & Integration experience required Experience with conveyors and material handling control systems Experience with CNC equipment operations preferred Able to read and understand electrical schematics An overall understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Able to learn quickly and retain new information Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good project management skills Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Skills preferred
