Controls Engineering Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controls Engineering Manager to lead our talented Controls Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems that are crucial to our operations. You will report to the Director of Engineering for Bevcorp, under our DF&H Division. On a given day, you may: Lead and Manage team of controls engineers. Provide guidance and mentorship in the preparation of detailed schematics and engineering drawings. Conduct electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, and machine PLC programming Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficient execution and delivery, while maintaining hands-on involvement in technical tasks. Travel to install sites for installation and runoffs with customers when necessary, providing both technical expertise and managerial oversight. Provide technical support during assembly and manage Final Assembly Test; support field service with remote and onsite technical assistance. Work with the R&D team on new product development projects, including design, testing, and technical support, while facilitating cross-functional collaboration. Provide assembly team with technical support during assembly and managing Final Assembly Test. May also support Field service with remote and onsite technical support. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, cost efficiency, and standardization, while implementing strategic plans. Commitment to safety, understanding risks, safety training, and documentation of incidents; ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations (NEC, NFPA-79, UL-508). Represent the company professionally in interactions with personnel, customers, and vendors, enhancing customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving strategies. Be the controls engineering subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to the engineering team. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in control systems and automation to maintain JBT's competitive edge. Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to stakeholders and senior management. Requirements for the role Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in control systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role Packaging or food & beverage experience preferred Proficient in Allen Bradley environment (RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, CCW). HMI Programming in the Allen Bradley environment (FTview) Electrical schematic drafting in AutoCAD Electrical Electrical circuit troubleshooting Understanding of electrical design concepts and processes, components, circuits, and power distribution. Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA-79 and UL-508 Strong customer relations and interpersonal communication skills Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Travel & Location You will be on site at our Eastlake, OH facility. You may need to travel to other teams to perform testing.
