Controls Engineering Intern - Indianapolis, IN

Allegion is seeking a Controls intern to join our team for the summer of 2026. This is a great opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in a unique manufacturing and automation environment. This position will work closely with experienced Controls engineers and technicians, contributing to real-world projects gaining valuable skills in industrial automation.

What You Will Do:

Assist with development and troubleshooting of new and existing automation systemsWork with industrial communication networks and infrastructureAssist in creating and updating electrical and pneumatic schematics, prints, and technical documentationSupport the installation, testing, and startup of new equipment on the manufacturing floorParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action for controls-related issuesAssist in maintaining software backups and version control for automation systems

What You Need to Succeed:

Currently enrolled in an engineering, engineering technology, computer science, technical, or related field of studyBasic understanding of electrical circuits and a willingness to continue learningStrong problem-solving skills with a tenacity for finding the root cause of issues and implementing solutionsAptitude for technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as executing on tasks independentlyEagerness to learn new technologies
