Controls Engineer PLC programing for Power Industry
Job Requirements

Have at least 5-10 years’ experience working with and PLC controllers and programing them in the power industry. Have a degree in mechanical, electrical, thermal or computer network engineering.  Have extensive knowledge in boiler operations, steam turbine and plant controls. Have knowledge of legacy controls systems. Be willing to travel on occasion to customer sites to complete technical reviews and data collection of controls systems. Then worth with a team to develop controls solutions for customer. Lead and mentor team members in programing and testing control logic for industrial systems. The team will use simulations to test and represent real world operational conditions of electrical power plants.

Desired Experience in programming controllers, such as GE Mark VI, Siemens, Allen Bradly or ABB or any Industrial controllers with HMI interface. Working knowledge of instrumentation circuits, ex thermocouples, pressure transmitters, Reading logic diagrams and programing ladder logic from themReviewing wiring diagrams for instrumentation installsInterpret P&ID/Electrical Schematics and experience with basic instrumentation.Collaborate with design engineers of various disciplines to develop control system requirements Support Field Engineering Services in technical resolution of field problemsProviding input to quality assurance on projectsReview and interpret customer specifications on mechanical systemsOperational Knowledge of Steam or Gas Turbine Power PlantsAbility to interpret functional requirements and translate into control logic.Ability to interpret P&ID/Electrical Schematics and experience with basic instrumentation

Preferred Hands-on experience programming controllers, GE Mark V, VI, VIe series turbine control and Cimplicity HMI software or other industry related controllers Siemens, or Allen Bradly.Demonstrate experience working in the industrial controls or power generation industryHave a fundamental understanding of Steam Turbine and Power Plant constructionTechnical skills in engineering design and construction practicesProven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility and demonstrated capacity to learn complex information quicklyField experience in related equipmentStrong organizational / project execution skills and prior success in working with or leading cross-functional teamsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead othersPassion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions
