What would you do as our Controls Engineer?
Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems to optimize manufacturing processes. This role partners with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure safe, reliable options of equipment and systems.
You would also:
Design, implement and maintain automated control systems that optimize production performance Analyze processes and equipment to identify and implement product and process improvements Troubleshoot hardware and system issues with timely resolution and follow-up Research and evaluate new technologies and automation solutions Collaborate with production, maintenance, tool room, and support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues Use data and root-cause analysis to detect and prevent quality issues and reduce downtime Lead and support projects that improve safety, productivity, and reliability Measure and analyze parts and products, and make data-driven adjustments to improve functionality and manufacturing performance Use strong cause-and-effect analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions Continually promotes a safe and harmonious working environment. Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Perform other duties as assigned
The Skills and Experience you need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering discipline strongly preferred) 3–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environment Allen Bradley PLC programming experience required Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or Pro-E), and Microsoft Office Experience with database tools and structures for shop-floor data collection Experience with robotics integration in manufacturing, preferred Exposure to stamping, MIG and spot-welding, and CNC processes preferred Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Familiarity with safety systems and guarding; OSHA 30-hour certification preferred Demonstrated ability to design and implement electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic automation solutions
