**About the role**
We are seeking a **Controls Engineer** to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of industrial control systems, with a primary focus on **SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)** and **BMS (Building Management Systems)** . This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and digital integration of our manufacturing and facility operations.
**Your responsibilities**
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for **SCADA** and **BMS** systems across the facility.
• Lead system architecture, design, configuration, and maintenance of SCADA and BMS platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, IT, Facilities, Maintenance and Operations) to drive digital automation projects.
• Manage system upgrades, expansions, and integration with other plant systems.
• Develop and enforce standards and documentation for controls system programming, HMI development, and network architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex controls-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support commissioning, validation, and change management processes related to automation systems.
• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy savings, operational efficiency, and data visibility.
**The experience we're looking for**
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or related field. Master’s preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in controls engineering, including direct experience with SCADA and BMS systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with platforms such as **Wonderware, Ignition, Siemens, Rockwell Automation** , or similar.
• Familiarity with **HVAC controls** , utility systems, and building automation protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, OPC).
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Knowledge of industrial networks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
**The skills for success**

USD $74,000.00 - $110,000.00
**pay transparency**
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
