Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will support our services team and contribute to the development of industrial automation machinery for major automotive programs. You will handle controls and automation work within plants, primarily focusing on new equipment and utilizing Siemens TIA portal PLC code. You will immediately start on a project for Ford, adhering to Ford FAST standards while programming. Flexibility with travel is essential, as you may be required to work on-site with customers to handle projects.
ResponsibilitiesReceive specifications for automated equipment from specific customers and write PLC code from scratch or modify existing PLC code.Collaborate with team members on the shop floor and on-site to perform machine start-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.Be actively involved in the installation of machines at customer sites, perform start-ups, and resolve any issues before transitioning to the next project.Essential Skills2+ years of experience with Siemens TIA portal, writing code from scratch.PLC programming, commissioning, and automation machine experience.Knowledge of controls engineering, electrical engineering, and programming.Additional Skills & QualificationsFord FAST experience is desirable.GCCS Certification and Fanuc robot experience are advantageous.Familiarity with Eplan and GMCCl is a plus.Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic and engaging environment with opportunities to expand your skills in design, vision, and robotics. The role involves consistent workload with potential for overtime. You will collaborate with other employees on-site, working on a variety of fully automated custom machines. The position requires travel up to 50% to locations such as Michigan, New York, Canada, and Toledo, OH. While traveling, mileage, meals, and lodging costs are covered. The work environment includes a clean, temperature-controlled shop where you will program and debug machines on your laptop, and work closely with shop personnel.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $50.00/hr.
