Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our Material Handling Equipment engineering team. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive innovative projects that enhance the delivery station processes and operations for our last mile business. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical and controls layouts for both new and existing delivery stations. You will challenge current processes, equipment procedures, and electrical/controls specifications to propose and implement creative process improvement initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop industrial controls for complex material handling systems, considering human/equipment interactions.Serve as the interface between MHE vendors and internal engineering design teams, ensuring vendor compliance with controls specifications, NEC, NFPA 70, and other applicable codes.Manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks, effectively influencing and negotiating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.Conduct post mortem evaluations on designs after implementation in collaboration with Safety, Maintenance, and Operations teams.Review new advanced technology introduced into MHE systems with a focus on electrical and controls interfacing requirements.Evaluate pricing of project proposals, change orders, and other quotes related to electrical and controls scope.Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or Eplan for reviewing electrical schematics and layouts.Update specifications to maintain optimal technology in controls for Logistics.Understand material handling control systems, including relay logic, PLCs, IPCs, and industrial networks such as Ethernet, motor control systems, and electrical distribution systems.Develop, document, and update design standards in collaboration with worldwide design teams, emphasizing electrical and controls design standards.Experience with technical solutions encompassing advanced technology applications, conveyor hardware selection, material handling integration, and vendor commissioning content and expectations.Essential SkillsPLC programming skills, particularly with Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff systems.Expertise in Control System Design.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.5 years of experience in Electrical/Control systems, particularly in PLC-based controls design, development, and implementation in a fast-paced industrial logistics or manufacturing environment.5 years of experience managing and being responsible for multiple large projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with Codesys.Experience with automation and material handling integration.Work Environment:

ONSITE IN BELLEVUE, WA

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $65.00/hr.
