Job Description
Join a leading manufacturer of motor vehicle parts and accessories, specializing in aluminum alloy wheels, as a Controls Engineer. This role is based in Columbus, IN and is integral to optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and driving innovation in aluminum wheel production.
ResponsibilitiesDesign equipment and apparatus for handling, pretreatment, and painting of aluminum wheels.Lead continuous improvement activities and optimize plant layouts.Design, program, and oversee the installation of machines and processes.Build, program, or procure necessary components.Read and create electrical diagrams proficiently.Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations.Program and design automated equipment.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering.Proficiency in robot troubleshooting, including Fanuc and Universal robots.Ability to modify and edit PLC code (Mitsubishi, Siemens).Familiarity with Keyence and Cognex vision systems.Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.Additional Skills & QualificationsA 2 or 4-year engineering degree related to Automation is preferred.Experience in AutoCAD Electrical is advantageous.Work Environment
The work environment includes a foundry setting, which can be warm, and a clean paint process area. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime. The paint department consists of four process engineers. The company values its employees, providing a secure and stable work environment with only one layoff in the past 35 years. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
