Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will lead the development, qualification, and support of assembly and test equipment for manufacturing. You will provide technical input in project and cross-functional team meetings, develop and interpret technical and financial specifications for prototype and production equipment, conduct equipment design reviews, and manage vendor compliance with specifications. Your role includes supporting Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety policies, and programming, updating, and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs. You will also integrate and troubleshoot machine vision systems and establish communication protocols.
ResponsibilitiesLead the development, qualification, and support of assembly and test equipment for manufacturing.Provide technical input in project and cross-functional team meetings.Develop and interpret technical and financial specifications for prototype and production equipment.Conduct equipment design reviews and manage vendor compliance with specifications.Support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, including documentation and validation protocols.Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety policies and applicable ANSI/OSHA safety standards.Program, update, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs using Factory Talk Studio.Integrate and troubleshoot machine vision systems such as Cognex and/or Keyence.Establish and troubleshoot communication protocols including UART, I2C, RS485, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, and Modbus.Integrate and troubleshoot data acquisition systems.Perform Measurement System Analysis on production machinery.Ensure all activities comply with the Quality System and project timelines.Essential SkillsProficiency in PLC programming using Allen Bradley PLC.Proficiency in HMI programming using FactoryTalk View Studio.Proficiency in creating PLC and HMI programs using pre-written code standards and templates.Proficiency in LabVIEW programming for data acquisition.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation Engineering and Controls Engineering.Strong appreciation for engaging with cross-discipline teams to understand and guide requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering.Proficiency in communication protocols (serial and industrial Ethernet).Experience with machine vision systems such as Cognex and/or Keyence.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $72.12/hr.
