Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description

Join our team as a Controls Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in designing and programming custom equipment used in various manufacturing settings. Our innovative machines are utilized in industries such as plastics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food and beverage. Located in the downtown Saginaw area, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to projects that range from mixing rocket fuel to enhancing everyday products.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and layout wiring diagrams, junction boxes, and system components.Provide a bill of materials to facilitate manufacturing and assist in developing cost estimates and timelines.Program equipment using ladder logic, discrete PID controllers, PLC/HMI interfaces, and communication links.Troubleshoot and debug equipment, ensuring hands-on involvement and mechanical aptitude.Conduct limited field service trips to resolve issues in front of customers, typically 1-2 weeks per year.Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience as a Controls/Electrical Engineer in a non-automotive setting.Ability to read electrical prints and symbols, including IEC standards, NEC code, and P&ID's.Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging using PLCs, preferably Rockwell/Allen Bradley or Siemens.Familiarity with CAD software, ideally AutoCAD Electrical.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field.Experience with VFD for ABB robots and field service.Panel building expertise.Knowledge of Factory Talk and Ethernet communication links.Work Environment

Work within a close-knit team of four in the Electrical group, contributing to the design and build of diverse manufacturing equipment. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $52.00/hr.
