Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Intermediate Control Systems/Automation Designer to provide innovative automation solutions for industrial-based clients. This role involves a mix of control system design, programming, and implementation, along with on-site support. You'll work in the office and support projects throughout the lower mainland, with occasional travel to the US, involving heavy industrial automation and large machinery. This position offers the opportunity for career growth and the chance to take on a leadership role swiftly.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement control systems and automation solutions for industrial clients.Program and troubleshoot PLCs and rewrite programming as needed.Develop control panel layouts using AutoCAD.Provide on-site support and collaborate with clients to address their needs.Work with heavy industrial automation of large machinery, specifically bulk material handling.Move into a lead position to fill the gap left by a recent resignation.Essential SkillsElectrical, Systems, Mechatronics Engineering or Technologist program completion.P.Eng designation or eligibility.Minimum 3 years of direct industrial, mining, or process plant experience.At least 3 years of PLC programming experience with brands such as Schneider PLCs.At least 3 years of experience working and developing with HMI software like Wonderware, FactoryTalk, and Ignition.Minimum 3 years of on-site client interaction experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsProject Management experience.Proficiency in CAD software for at least 2 years.Experience with Cenelec standards and related technologies.P.Eng designation is an assetWork Environment

The candidate should feel comfortable being on-site and managing client requests. Collaborating with various professionals such as electricians, mechanical engineers, and millwrights is a key part of the role. The work environment is dynamic with opportunities for growth, backed by a strong team known for their technical expertise.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $52.88/hr.
