**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
**Programming & Development (40%)**
+ Design and develop PLC programs using Siemens STEP 7/TIA Portal
+ Create and modify ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text programs
+ Develop HMI applications using WinCC Unified and WinCC Flexible
+ Program and configure SCADA systems for process monitoring and control
**System Integration (25%)**
+ Startup automation systems at customer sites or manufacturing facilities
+ Integrate PLCs with third-party devices, drives, and instrumentation
+ Configure industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
+ Perform system testing, validation, and performance optimization
+ Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers during system integration
**Troubleshooting & Maintenance (20%)**
+ Diagnose and resolve PLC and HMI issues in production environments
+ Perform preventive maintenance on automation systems
+ Analyze system performance and implement improvements
+ Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams
+ Document troubleshooting procedures and create maintenance protocols
**Project Management & Collaboration (15%)**
+ Lead small to medium-sized automation projects independently
+ Coordinate with project managers, drafters, electrical engineers, and operations teams
+ Participate in design reviews and technical meetings
+ Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned components
**WHO YOU ARE:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, or related field OR Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Technical certification with 3+ years of relevant experience
+ 2+ years hands-on experience with Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal
+ Experience with WinCC Unified, WinCC Flexible, or WinCC SCADA
+ 2+ years total PLC programming experience
+ Proficiency in ladder logic, function blocks, and structured text
+ Experience with analog and digital I/O configuration
+ Knowledge of PID control loops and process control
+ Understanding of industrial communication protocols
+ Electrical schematic reading and interpretation
+ Understanding of motor control and VFDs
+ Knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity principles
+ Experience with version control systems
+ Ability to travel (up to 25% for supporting implementations)
The base compensation range for this position is $79,000 to $85,000 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity. For this specific role, you may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
