Job Duties: Associate, Ledger Validation with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Work with a full range of daily processes for a team involved in global control reconciliations, including report publishing, root cause analysis of issues and various completeness and accuracy controls. Work on efficiency efforts and business intelligence initiatives, which will require the incumbent to become fluent in process flows for both broker-dealers and banking entities. Work closely with other operations teams, as well as across the Firm’s functions, including regulatory reporting, global banking and markets, legal entity / product controllers, compliance, and legal, to ensure integrity of books and records.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or a related business analysis field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include at least three (3) years with the following: applying financial analysis, economics and statistical knowledge to performing financial reconciliations; identifying patterns and root causes of finance and accounting operational issues to mitigate and reduce risk; identifying risks and inefficiencies in daily business processes and coordinating initiatives to help mitigate risk; applying advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills to create and produce regulatory reports and internal presentations, including the use of Alteryx, complex formulas and relational databases; leveraging project management skills to coordinate the execution of various deliverables, managing the expectations of stakeholders, and managing risk; researching reconciliation discrepancies, performing follow ups and completing investigation; and guiding new or junior members of the team on how to identify root cause, and aid internal operational and business teams.
