Description
We are seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to lead the finance and accounting operations at our manufacturing plant in Starkville, MS. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and profitable organization while playing a critical role in driving financial performance and operational efficiency. As the Plant Controller, you will work closely with plant leadership to oversee cost accounting functions, develop financial strategies, and ensure compliance with policies and standards. You will also manage and mentor an accounting team, providing both strategic and tactical leadership to support our business goals.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Managing all financial operations within the plant, including cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
+ Driving the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring accurate reporting in a timely manner.
+ Providing in-depth analysis to plant management to support cost reductions, process improvements, and operational decisions.
+ Establishing and monitoring internal controls to maintain compliance with financial policies and safeguard company assets.
+ Leading, training, and developing the plant’s accounting team to ensure success across financial operations.

Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
+ Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing cost accounting experience.
+ Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and financial analysis.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
+ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Effective communicator with the ability to collaboratively work and build relationships with operations teams.
