Description
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the financial operations of a dynamic and expanding organization. This highly visible role will partner closely with senior leadership, providing financial insight and operational support to help drive strategic decision-making and business growth.
The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. While the role does not currently include direct reports, the Controller will collaborate with the internal office and accounting support team, who manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and customer support functions.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
+ Perform and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
+ Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to leadership
+ Manage cash flow, operating costs, and overall financial health of the organization
+ Maintain and improve cost accounting and work-in-process tracking systems
+ Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
+ Serve as the main point of contact for external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
+ Ensure compliance with government reporting and tax requirements (including sales tax filings)
+ Oversee general ledger accuracy, journal entries, and key performance reporting
+ Monitor and manage banking relationships, accounts, and credit cards
+ Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and profitability
+ Document financial policies and procedures and support training as needed
+ Assist with CPA reviews and audits
+ Participate in training, leadership meetings, and special projects as required
Requirements
Key Qualifications
+ Strong alignment with company culture and values
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
+ Advanced proficiency in Epicor Prophet 21 (Cloud) and Microsoft Excel
+ Strong planning and multi-tasking abilities with a high attention to detail
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
+ Consistent track record of meeting deadlines
+ High integrity and discretion in handling confidential materials
+ Flexibility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)
+ 5+ years of experience as a Controller or similar leadership role in accounting/finance
+ Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, or related fields strongly preferred
