Controller M2 – Americas Capital Markets Services Business Line
About the role:
We are seeking a talented Controller to join JLL’s Controllership function supporting the Capital Markets Services (CMS) business segment. While this role is focused on the Americas region, there will be opportunities to support the Global CMS business and work with colleagues across the globe. This role will oversee a team of seven accounting professionals responsible for maintaining the integrity of JLL’s financial statements, ensuring compliance with JLL policies and procedures, and providing useful insights to business and functional leaders, among other important contributions. This role will play a critical part in driving efficiencies, leading transformational initiatives that strengthen our accounting operations, and creating an infrastructure that will support the sustained growth of the business. This role will report to the Global CMS Controller.

Your technical proficiency, analytical expertise and leadership will be instrumental in supporting mergers and acquisitions, coordinating audits, and delivering comprehensive financial insights that drive business success across the Americas region.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting and financial reporting for all U.S. CMS businesses (e.g. core CM, Valuations, Securities), including all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close processesComplete comprehensive P&L and Balance Sheet commentary for the U.S. operations and coordinate with Canada/LATAM and other teams to deliver integrated Americas financial reportingOversee reporting and audit requirements for JLL’s broker-dealer entityManage compliance with global balance sheet reconciliation policies, reviewing and approving reconciliations while developing executive-level reporting for leadership teamsTroubleshoot questions from the field, work closely with the Operations team, and support CMS Business FinanceServe as primary liaison with tax, legal, global technical accounting, and risk management departments to ensure accurate monthly financial reportingPartner with the Global Accounting Compliance team to develop and implement a more efficient internal control environment compliant with JLL and SOX requirementsManage the identification, escalation, resolution and stakeholder communication of accounting and internal control matters and issues.Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and implementing process enhancements that leverage technology and optimize team efficiencyLead and develop a team of direct reports located throughout the U.S.The Qualifications –
Bachelors in Accounting or related field with a minimum 10 years of core accounting and/or auditing experience with demonstrated expertise in complex financial operations; CPA preferredTeam management or supervisory experience with proven ability to lead and develop accounting professionalsDemonstrated experience in performing in-depth accounting research and translating that research into analytical, logical, and coherent written communicationsStrong analytical mind with demonstrated experience interpreting and communicating financial results to finance and business leadershipAbility to operate independently and across multiple and frequently changing complex tasksStrong interpersonal skills including diplomacy, ability to build consensus & exert leadership in a collaborative settingAdept at forging strong relationships within a matrix environment; collaborative work styleEffective communicator with an ability to develop creative solutions to complex business issuesWhat you can expect from us –
