Description We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Controller to join a dynamic start-up based in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will lead and oversee critical accounting functions across multiple operating locations, ensuring financial accuracy and driving process improvements. Responsibilities:
• Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts payable, billing, collections, fleet management, revenue recognition, and internal controls.
• Conduct daily reviews of invoice accuracy, commission validation, and pricing compliance to maintain financial integrity.
• Support multi-location operations through reconciliations, compliance reporting, and audit preparation.
• Collaborate with general managers and leadership to identify and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to guide executive decision-making.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial performance across locations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audits to uphold organizational standards.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and enhancing team productivity.
• Identify and implement system or workflow enhancements to streamline accounting operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in multi-state and multi-location operations.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring and developing team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven ability to implement and manage internal controls and process improvements.
• Familiarity with compliance reporting and audit preparation.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
