Description We are looking for a ONSITE skilled and strategic Controller to oversee financial operations and provide key insights to drive business growth for a Law Firm located in El Paso, Tx . This leadership role is essential for maintaining regulatory compliance, strengthening internal controls, and optimizing cash flow processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial strategy and innovation, helping the organization achieve sustainable success. Responsibilities: • Manage comprehensive accounting operations, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting processes. • Prepare detailed financial statements and conduct variance analyses to provide actionable insights to leadership. • Develop and enforce robust internal controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements. • Lead annual budgeting efforts, deliver rolling forecasts, and create scenario models to support organizational goals. • Oversee cash flow management, trust account operations, and risk evaluation, particularly for contingency-fee cases. • Enhance financial workflows by integrating case management and billing platforms, while recommending automation tools and analytics dashboards. • Offer strategic financial advice on pricing models, cost structures, and profitability analyses. • Act as a liaison with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors to ensure seamless communication and compliance. • Supervise accounting staff or external bookkeeping teams, setting high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and transparency. • Drive process improvements and leverage technology to scale financial operations effectively. Requirements • CPA certification required; advanced credentials like CMA or MBA are preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. • Legal Accounting Experience is required • Expertise in trust accounting, contingency billing, and managing deferred revenue. • Strong understanding of GAAP, auditing, and compliance standards. • Proficiency with legal accounting software such as Clio, PCLaw, or QuickBooks, along with advanced Excel skills. • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus. • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with strong leadership and communication abilities. • Proven ability to manage and optimize financial systems and processes in a dynamic environment.
