Kforce has a client in Saint Augustine, FL that is seeking a full time Controller for their team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing accounting staff, ensuring financial integrity, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions. Responsibilities: * Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports * Monitor financial performance and provide management with insights and recommendations for improvements * Ensure compliance with accounting standards, industry regulations, and company policies * Lead the preparation of annual budgets, project forecasts, and cash flow projections * Analyze variances between budgeted and actual costs, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions * Assist project managers in tracking and managing project budgets and costs * Oversee job cost accounting, ensuring accurate cost tracking and allocation for each project * Maintain and monitor systems for job costing, labor costing, materials, subcontractor expenses, and overhead * Develop and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects stay within budget * Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records * Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and construction industry-specific standards * Work closely with external auditors during financial audits and tax filings * Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on daily operations and professional development * Manage the accounts payable/receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection * Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate reporting of labor costs
