Financial Controller

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to lead financial operations and guide a high-performing Finance team. This role is part of the senior leadership group and requires a candidate with strong communication, analytical thinking, and strategic insight.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in accordance with GAAP and industry standards.Build and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts, analyzing variances and providing actionable insights.Partner with leadership to shape financial strategies that support organizational goals.Design and maintain effective internal controls and compliance procedures to protect assets and ensure regulatory adherence.Oversee tax planning and ensure compliance with applicable laws, liaising with external auditors and advisors.Deliver financial insights to support business decisions, including investment evaluations, cost management, and performance tracking.Manage short-term cash forecasting and working capital to optimize liquidity.Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Identify financial risks and manage insurance programs outside of employee benefits.Facilitate external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.Essential SkillsA bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred but not required).Proven experience in financial reporting and team leadership.Strong knowledge of GAAP, especially in high-volume transaction environments.Familiarity with financial systems such as QuickBooks and other general ledger platforms used by growing businesses.Experience with financial system transitions, ideally to platforms like NetSuite.Additional Skills & QualificationsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.High integrity and ethical standards.Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Background in technology, services, or software development is a plus.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
