A fast-growing early-stage investment firm is seeking a Controller to lead its financial operations during a pivotal expansion phase. With over $500M in assets under management and plans to scale to $2B, this is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role with clear upward mobility toward a CFO position.

Key Responsibilities
+ Oversee fund and management company accounting across multiple entities.
+ Manage relationships with fund administrators (currently Carta and Gryphon), with plans to transition to Standish.
+ Lead audit and tax processes with external providers.
+ Maintain and enhance LP reporting, including capital calls and distributions.
+ Monitor cash flow and coordinate capital activity.
+ Build and streamline internal financial controls and reporting systems.
+ Prepare dashboards and financial reports for internal and LP use.
+ Support fundraising efforts with modeling and valuation insights.
+ Act as a strategic financial partner to the Founding Partner.

Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
+ 7–10 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within venture capital or private equity.
+ Currently serving as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
+ Proven experience managing fund administrators and external financial partners.
+ Deep understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and partnership structures.
+ CPA preferred; experience with venture capital fund operations required.
+ Strong leadership presence, strategic mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
+ Passion for building systems, solving problems, and driving impact.
