Description We are looking for a meticulous Controller to manage and oversee our financial operations in Berkeley, California. This role requires a highly organized individual who excels in document control, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and supporting key business processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management and document handling to contribute to the organization's success. Responsibilities: + Provide senior leadership with detailed financial reports through data evaluation and analysis. + Support financial decision-making by adhering to company policies and procedures. + Design, implement, and uphold financial controls and best practices. + Meet budget objectives through effective planning, analysis, and corrective measures. + Contribute to the creation and execution of both short- and long-term business strategies. + Supervise all accounting functions to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. + Safeguard revenue, costs, and budgets by maintaining strong internal controls. + Partner with the CEO to set financial benchmarks, monitor programs, and prepare monthly and annual reports. + Standardize accounting policies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. + Strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure policy compliance. + Develop and deliver insightful management reports and financial analytics. + Lead and support the accounting team and operations. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field. + Over 7 years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a senior role. + Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory standards. + Familiarity with banking operations and processes. + Strong skills in financial data analysis and communication. + Experience with ERP systems is preferred. + Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting is a plus. + CPA certification is highly desirable.
