Description We are seeking a financial leader to oversee and enhance the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations, while driving improvements in financial systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: + Supervise all financial reporting systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards. + Manage general ledger activities, resolve complex accounting issues, and lead the month-end close process. + Prepare and present financial statements that reflect the organization’s financial position and activities. + Develop and maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure adherence to financial policies. + Coordinate audit processes, including external and regulatory audits, and oversee the preparation of required tax filings. + Identify and implement enhancements to financial systems and workflows for greater efficiency and transparency. + Lead financial compliance and reporting for grant-funded programs, ensuring alignment with donor requirements. + Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll, and receivables for central operations. + Establish and unify accounting policies and procedures across multiple operational regions. + Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering adherence to best practices and organizational standards. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. + Deep understanding of financial management principles, including compliance with funding and regulatory requirements. + Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial or operational leadership roles, including at least 7 years managing teams. + Demonstrated ability to oversee complex, multi-site or multi-project financial operations. + Proven track record of building and guiding effective, collaborative teams. + Experience leading organizational change and improving financial systems and processes. + Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and apply financial data to strategic decision-making. + Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and inclusivity.
