Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to lead and manage financial operations within our organization based in McLean, Virginia. This role requires an experienced individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to oversee diverse financial functions while ensuring regulatory compliance. The Controller will play a critical role in guiding financial strategies and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all accounting operations, including billing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, and financial statements.
• Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and oversee financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow analyses to support strategic planning.
• Negotiate and manage corporate liability insurance policies, lines of credit, and investment portfolios.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Supervise the audit process and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Provide detailed financial analyses to support decision-making on capital investments, contract negotiations, and cost management.
• Track organizational payments and prepare documentation for annual audits.
• Offer guidance to management on financial benchmarks, pricing strategies, and significant expenses. Requirements
• Extensive experience in accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and audits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in financial software such as Deltek Costpoint.
• Excellent organizational skills, including document control and document scanning.
• Ability to compile and manage financial records with attention to detail.
• Proven track record of negotiating and managing corporate insurance and investments.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with auditors, investors, and stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset for conducting financial analyses and providing strategic recommendations.
