Job Description
Purpose:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle within a designated area, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial support. This person is going to play a very important role in being and analytical in bettering the business. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver timely insights, support decision-making, and drive financial performance. This financial controller will oversee 8 to 10 cost accountants and ensure they are productive and hitting their goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of 8 to 10 Financial Analysts, promoting a high-performance culture.
Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Provide financial guidance across operational and functional teams, supporting M&A reviews and contract evaluations.
Oversee month-end close, forecasting, variance analysis, and internal reporting.
Join monthly corporate meeting to talk about where the division's cash flow and DSO behaviors are
Ensure accuracy in project-related entries and asset management.
Support internal and external audits, including US GAAP, statutory, and SOX compliance.
Maintain adherence to US GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience).
1015 years of relevant experience, including work with US Government contracts.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and government contract accounting.
CPA, CMA, or other advanced certifications.
Technology: PeopleSoft, Costpoint, or Adaptive Workday.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strategic perspective.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
Proactive, business-oriented, and solution-driven.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. null
