Job Description:

The Kokosing Group of Companies is currently seeking a Controller for one of its heavy civil construction operating companies with annual revenues of approximately $1 billion. The position will be based in the company’s Westerville, Ohio office.  This position is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the company and will serve as the primary point of contact for all accounting matters.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting is requiredCPA license and/or MBA highly recommended

Experience / Skills:

Construction accounting experience is requiredExperience with Vista by Viewpoint software is highly preferred10+ years of public accounting experience and/or management experience in a large corporate settingStrong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detailGeneral sense of curiosity with an ability to investigate and solve problemsWillingness to take a hands-on approach and assume full ownership of the accounting function for the assigned operating company

Essential Job Functions:

Manage the month-end close process for the assigned operating company in a timely and accurate mannerPrepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliation schedules to ensure compliance with GAAPPrepare, review, and post journal entries to support the month-end close processOversee the preparation of the monthly WIP schedulePrepare the monthly financial statement reporting package for distribution to managementWork with operations to ensure accurate reporting of job cost and billing informationServe as a liaison between operations and accountingAssist in developing the annual budget and quarterly forecast for the operating companyAssist with the annual external audit by preparing all necessary workpapers and supporting documentsManage the preparation of year-end income tax schedules for external tax preparersWork closely with Corporate Shared Services (Accounts Payable and Payroll) on all matters related to the operating company
