Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization. Based in Washington, North Carolina, this role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who excels in financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. With a focus on accuracy and strategic insight, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial health and long-term goals. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review accurate financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards. • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and precise reporting. • Oversee the preparation and posting of journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records. • Lead financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making. • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies. • Collaborate with department heads to manage budgets and forecast future financial performance. • Monitor and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. • Provide detailed financial insights and recommendations to senior management. • Train and mentor accounting staff to foster their growth and development. Requirements • A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management. • Proven expertise in preparing financial statements and performing month-end close activities. • Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance. • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in financial software and tools. • Strong communication and leadership abilities. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
