Description
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
+ Prepare and oversee timely and accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
+ Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
+ Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
Accounting Operations
+ Supervise general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
+ Maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
+ Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
Budgeting & Forecasting
+ Lead annual budgeting and long-range financial planning processes.
+ Provide variance analysis and cost-saving recommendations.
+ Collaborate with department heads to align budgets with strategic goals.
Leadership & Team Management
+ Manage and mentor the accounting team (staff accountants, AP/AR clerks, etc.).
+ Hire, train, and evaluate finance staff.
+ Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Treasury & Cash Management
+ Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.
+ Oversee working capital management and optimize fund utilization.
Tax & Regulatory
+ Coordinate with tax advisors for filings and compliance (sales tax, income tax, etc.).
+ Stay informed of changing tax laws and regulations that affect the business.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education & Certification
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA a plus).
+ CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
Experience
+ 7–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
+ 3–5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
+ Industry experience (e.g., manufacturing, SaaS, healthcare) may be required depending on the company.
Skills
+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
+ Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle).
+ Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
