Position Title: Controller
Location: Webster, NY (On-site)
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and provide strategic financial direction. This leadership role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding long-term planning efforts. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with strong technical expertise and a proactive mindset, capable of driving process improvements and mentoring a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Direct all core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
+ Prepare and present accurate, timely financial statements, budgets, and management reports.
+ Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP and company policies.
+ Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making and business planning.
+ Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, cash flow analysis, and project profitability evaluations.
+ Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
+ Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
+ Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and industry-specific requirements.
+ Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and other key external stakeholders.
+ Oversee risk management functions, including insurance coverage, bonding, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in tools such as 3M, ADP, and CRM systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, budgets, and strategic forecasts.
• Experience with financial modeling, construction financing, or land development is preferred.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring and managing accounting teams.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with senior leadership and external partners.
