Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations of our organization in Macedonia, Ohio. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting, as well as maintaining robust systems for accounting records and controls. The Controller will work closely with the President to oversee budgeting, risk mitigation, and financial procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
• Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Ensure accurate customer invoicing and implement a follow-up system for aged accounts receivable.
• Manage cost accounting for individual products to support financial decision-making.
• Supervise physical inventory processes and ensure accurate inventory tracking.
• Process payroll accurately and on time using a full-service external vendor.
• Establish and enforce controls over accounting transactions to maintain compliance and accuracy.
• Oversee import/export personnel to ensure proper recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and issue timely and comprehensive financial statements to support organizational transparency.
• Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors and manage the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including 2-4 years as a Controller.
• Proficiency in cost accounting and familiarity with manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Experience with preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate audits and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage financial operations and reporting.
