Job Title: Control Systems Engineer
Job Description

As a member of a highly motivated, dynamic, multi-disciplined team, you will design and develop world-class automation solutions. Your duties involve contributing to machine concepts, designing control software, integrating software with electrical and mechanical systems, developing processes, and installing machines at customer sites worldwide. The role involves working with leading-edge technologies and processes utilizing PLCs, PCs, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, lasers, and other controllers.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop software programs (PLC and/or PC-based) specific to customer and project requirements.Commission control systems at our facility and during the system integration stage, and at the customer's site during installation.Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties.Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.Collaborate with other members of the control systems design department and other groups to continuously improve integration methods to enhance safety, functionality, and reduce costs.Ensure that labor and material budgets as well as scheduled delivery dates are adhered to or improved upon.Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems, providing the customer with a complete, functional automation system.Thoroughly test machine functionality to verify software program completeness.Provide accurate documentation for each project.Advise customers on solving technical problems.Provide customer training specific to their current project, including machine operation, programming principles, and program structure.Responsibilities may change based on individual abilities.Essential SkillsControl system designSystem integrationPLC programmingExperience with Allen-Bradley and ladder logicIntegration and commissioningExperience with vision systems, sensors, and lasersAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in developing control programs such as PLC, HMI, and ServoDebugging and testing machinesPLC programming from scratchExperience with Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCCoding in ladder logicExperience with motion controllersWork Environment

This role involves a mix of working in an office and on a production floor. The dress code is business casual. The team consists of up to 60+ engineers, divided into smaller teams of 2-6 people. Working hours are from 8:30 to 4:30 with flexible start and finish times. You can expect 10-15 hours of overtime in some weeks, given the nature of the work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
