Weyerhaeuser Company has an opening for a Controll Roome Trainee at our Arcadia Oriented Strand Board Mill (OSB) located in Simsboro, Louisiana. The Control Room Trainee is responsible for learning how to cover the control room station job duties safely and efficiently. This includes learning job functions for the Press Operator and Dryer Operator and having a good understanding of the equipment you will be operating. You will need to be able to operate a computer, monitor screens, and regularly communicate with others. For Press Operator – You will need to learn how to change products according to a production plan and be able to set parameters according to the recipe. Learn to operate blenders, forming line, loader/unloader cages. General understanding of the following positions: Press Field Tech, Grader, Dryer Field Tech. For Dryer Operator – You will need to learn how to control the fuel flow to the Wellons furnace from fuel silos, dryers and up to the dry bins. General understanding of the following positions: Furnace Field Tech, Dryer Field Tech, Log yard Field Tech. * High School Diploma or GED. * Willingness & ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which will include weekends and holidays. * Good communication skills. * Ability to work within a team setting. * Willingness and ability to cross train to learn new jobs & skills. * Able to perform basic math and use computers. * Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. * Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen. * Willingness to work in Simsboro, LA without requiring relocation assistance. * Must attach a resume which adequately documents employment history and/or include information on application. * Preferably two (2) years employment experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Prior control room experience (preferred). * Passion for safety initiatives and exceptional safety record. * Ability to successfully pass Operator 2 computer-based test. * Excellent attendance and performance records. * Ability to multi-task. * Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with contractors. * Ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending. * Ability to work at heights, in adverse weather conditions, and in challenging positions without issue. * Willingness to cross train with other positions to create talent depth on the team. * Willingness and ability to learn and effectively utilize specialized computer programs. * Ability to make independent decisions and work safely without direct supervision. *About Wood Products* We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
