Control Room Operator

Located in Bolingbrook, IL

Work schedule 12-hour rotating shifts

Summary

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring, operation, and real-time analysis of Invenergy and third-party wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. This position will be located at Invenergy’s Center of Excellence facility in Bolingbrook, IL.

Responsibilities

Remotely monitor and operate wind, solar, and battery storage generation facilities and related plant equipmentPromptly address turbine and inverter faultsManage balance of plant controls and ensure reliable facility operations: power/curtailments, voltage, reactive power, and other controls as neededRespond to critical alarms and situationsCommunicate and coordinate with site technicians, customers, grid operators, and third-partiesMaintain accurate logs of communicationsAnalyze data and trends, troubleshoot and diagnose issues and escalate matters to appropriate personnelMonitor weather at sites for safety of on-site technicians, personnel, and equipmentWork independently or collaboratively on projects and initiatives that enhance the operations and reliability of the control centerPosition will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work some nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in a course of study that demonstrates strong analytical and technical skillsOr 2 years of relevant experienceOr military service experience in positions that require communication, analytical, and decision-making skillsEligible to work in the Unites States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SCADA systems, preferably focused on wind or solar operationsExperience with data monitoring software such as PIExperience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Data analysisStrong problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detailStrong interpersonal communication skills 

Base Pay

$34.83 - $49.21 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
