About the team:

About the role:

The overall purpose of the role is to bring strong subject matter expertise on the topic of SOX compliance and internal controls to the Mexico market/ LAC region specifically focused around the Go- to market strategy and commercial practices.

This role will support the Management in delivering best-in-class control environment, increase control and compliance awareness and coordinate / ensure smooth delivery of internal control procedures. In addition provide support to Global Controls Assurance team in delivering regional controls assurance activities.

Role Responsibilities:

To drive the Risk, Control & Audit compliance agenda starting with Diageo Mexico and eventually supporting the whole of LAC region.To support the Management in delivering best-in-class control environment, increase control and compliance awareness and coordinate / ensure smooth delivery of internal control procedures.Support the head of internal controls In Mexico on continuous process improvement and transformation agenda.Obtain strong understanding of Mexico business across various processes but with initial focus on commercial processes.This would include focus on sales, revenue recognition, trade spend management, marketing, advertising, customer account management, customer account reconciliation, related accounting, accruals and policiesClosely engage with Diageo Mexico customers, sales and marketing teams to ensure they are aligning with applicable Diageo policies.Understand the tools and technologies supporting various processes, evaluate and handle risks embedded within them         Provide the Business leads with potential areas of opportunities so that they have the necessary time and resources to implement a robust remediation plan for the identified issues.Support new business initiatives and projects with a lens of risk, controls and compliance. Ensure that controls and risks are adequately covered during transitions such a change in processes, business strategy change, new technology implementationSupport Investigations in the market with focus on root cause analysis. Monitor all audit and controls deficiencies related to the scope area to ensure timely and effective remediation. Amplify the findings from deficiencies across the region through communications, training etc.Provide support during internal (CARE) and external assurance work (PWC) covering both audits, controls testing and risk management work. Provide updates/inputs to the Controls Assurance Delivery lead for the ARC/ AC Reporting.
