Contracts & Sourcing Specialist
Description Our client is searching for a Contracts and Sourcing Specialist to join their team in The Woodlands, Texas on a long-term contract basis. This position plays a critical role in ensuring effective contract management and procurement processes align with organizational priorities and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will contribute to cost savings, risk mitigation, and successful supplier relationships while maintaining high standards of excellence in contracts and sourcing activities. Primary Responsibilities Contracts Management: + Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Develop and assess contracts to ensure alignment with legal standards and organizational goals. + Negotiating Agreements: Engage in discussions with internal and external stakeholders to finalize contractual terms and conditions. + Managing Contract Lifecycles: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including initiation, amendments, renewals, and terminations. + Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Verify that contracts adhere to all relevant laws, company policies, and industry standards. + Document Retention: Maintain well-organized and accurate records of all contract documents and agreements. + Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work cross-functionally with teams such as legal, procurement, sales, and other departments to streamline contract processes. + Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks associated with contract provisions or obligations. + Performance Tracking: Monitor contract performance by tracking deadlines, milestones, and deliverables for timely execution. + Reporting and Updates: Prepare and present regular status reports on contract performance, potential issues, and resolution plans. Sourcing and Procurement: + Supplier Identification and Assessment: Locate potential suppliers and categorize sourcing needs by discipline and scope. + Evaluating and Selecting Suppliers: Conduct supplier assessments, ensuring they meet compliance and qualification criteria via RFP/RFQ, bidding, and tender processes. + Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers to ensure operational success. + Negotiating Terms with Suppliers: Secure favorable pricing and terms, while managing supplier agreements to align with company policies. + Cost Optimization and Risk Management: Minimize supply chain risks and optimize costs while adhering to ethical and legal standards. + Data Accuracy and Analysis: Maintain detailed records of sourcing activities, monitor key metrics, and provide performance reports. + Developing Strategic Sourcing Goals: Contribute to the creation and implementation of effective sourcing strategies. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: + Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. + Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities. + Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. + Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management. + In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management principles.
