Job Summary

Hub Group is seeking a talented contract specialist to join our legal team. You will perform a range of duties including preparing contracts, reviewing and negotiating contract terms, evaluating contract risks, managing and improving our contracting system and forms, and supporting our commercial, procurement and legal teams.  The ideal candidate should enjoy drafting and editing contracts, have substantive knowledge of contract terms and negotiating strategies, be highly organized and process-improvement driven, and be able to effectively communicate with lawyers and business colleagues about risk and risk mitigation.  Candidates must have at least 4 years of relevant experience.

 

Essential Job Functions

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for sale and procurement of services and goods Prepare contract templates and alternative contract terms Assist with contract due diligence in M&A transaction Support lawyers and business teams in addressing contract disputes Lead and improve contract management processes, including self-service agreements Assist in special projects for legal department, with consistent focus on continuous improvement

 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; JD a plus At least 4 years of substantive contract experience Familiarity with contract management processes a plus Experience in the transportation sector a plus Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal) Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work autonomously with minimal supervision Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Desire to be pro-active, challenged and grow professionally—focus on creative solutions

 

Salary: $79,000 - $105,000/year base salary + bonus eligibility

**This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however, may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand**
