Contracts Engineer

WSP is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Engineer to join our team on a supervision-based infrastructure project in Jeddah. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all contract management activities on site, including reviewing contractor claims, assessing variations, ensuring compliance with contract conditions, and liaising with project stakeholders to safeguard client interests throughout the construction phase.
+ Review and interpret contract documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance and proper execution during construction.
+ Assess and evaluate contractor claims, variations, and extension of time (EOT) requests, and provide recommendations.
+ Monitor contractual obligations and ensure that all parties are adhering to their contractual responsibilities.
+ Support the Resident Engineer and Project Manager with all contractual matters arising during the course of supervision.
+ Participate in commercial and contractual meetings with contractors and consultants.
+ Maintain up-to-date records of all contract communications and changes.
+ Assist in resolving contractual disputes and support in negotiations when required.
+ Prepare and review contract correspondence, letters, and notices in accordance with the conditions of contract.
+ Liaise with legal and commercial teams when needed for high-level issues.
+ Provide input for project reports related to contract and commercial status.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
+ Minimum 12 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a Contracts Engineer role on infrastructure projects.
+ Prior experience in supervision projects is essential.
+ Sound knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
+ Strong understanding of construction law, contract administration, and dispute resolution.
+ Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management tools.
+ Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is a plus.
