Contract Strategist
The Contract Strategist leads and facilitates successful negotiations with their assigned Deluxe business segment’s clients of medium and high complexity and strategic value. This position requires strong contract negotiation experience, a deep understanding of commercial terms, and the ability to influence outcomes across teams and clients. Responsibilities include identifying risk in contract language, advising business leadership on risk, negotiating directly with client contacts, and thinking strategically to improve revenue performance and maintain operational compliance. Key Responsibilities: + Lead negotiations for complex contracts (NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and other commercial agreements) with customers and strategic partners collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Tax, IT and other internal business leads to obtain necessary approvals for non-standard contract provisions to maintain adherence to company policies. + Provide timely, strategic advice to sales to provide best in class service and enable the business to achieve revenue, margin, and profitability goals. + Identify, assess, and communicate contractual risks, and mitigation strategies, to business and other key stakeholders. + Recommend and implement appropriate revisions to Deluxe standard contract forms and contract management processes. Basic Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelors in Legal Studies, Business, Paralegal, or other Analytical field or in the alternative HS/GED with 4 years contracting experience. Bachelors in Legal Studies or HS/GED and 4 years experience Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. Preferred Qualifications (PQs) Education: Juris Doctorate in Law (JD) ​ Experience: Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and comfort working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Financial Service industry experience. Experience working with sales or at a deal desk. Additional Basic Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Compensation The compensation range for this position is $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
