The Position

Are you a legal operations professional with a passion for optimising processes and leveraging technology? Our Commercial Contracts Team is looking for a Contract Operations and Legal Excellence Lead to drive efficiency and innovation within our Legal & Compliance Department, covering the UK & Ireland. The Opportunity

As the Contract Operations and Legal Excellence Lead, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining our commercial contract processes and enhancing our legal technology capabilities. You will blend your strong understanding of legal principles with your passion for process improvement, technology adoption, and data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will:

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of efficient contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes, from request to execution and renewal.

Drive the adoption and maximisation of our chosen CLM platform(s), ensuring optimal configuration and user experience.

Identify, analyse, and implement process improvements across various legal activities, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation.

Closely partner and collaborate with other internal departments to integrate legal processes seamlessly into broader business workflows.

Working closely with Global Functions to evaluate, recommend, and implement new legal technologies to enhance departmental effectiveness, acting as a super-user and internal champion for legal tech platforms and the use of AI.

Lead, mentor, and develop other team members, delegating tasks effectively and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Who you are

You are an experienced legal operations professional with a proven track record in contract management and process optimisation. You are a proactive self-starter with excellent project management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. You bring:

Experience in legal operations, contract management, or a similar role, ideally within an in-house legal department.

Proven success in implementing and optimising CLM systems.

Strong understanding of the commercial contract lifecycle and best practices.

Demonstrable experience in process mapping, re-engineering, and implementing operational efficiencies.

Proficiency with legal technology solutions and a keen interest in exploring new innovations and technologies to improve efficiency in operations.

Excellent project management, analytical, and data analysis skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Familiarity with the UK and Ireland legal landscape and commercial practices is essential.
