**Contract Foster Parent Trainer**
Location: Ohio
**Position Overview**
The Contract Foster Parent Trainer with National Youth Advocate Program works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children, youth and families served. This position is responsible for foster parent growth and retention statewide by ensuring that the organization’s foster parents are provided with training and development in alignment with trauma informed practices. This is a remote, contract role in Ohio.
Pay: $45 hourly
**Responsibilities**
+ Present the curriculum to the foster parents in 2 to 3 hour on-line training sessions.
+ Be able to lead and direct conversations pertaining to the developed trainings.
+ Implements trauma informed care centered training curriculum specific to the needs of traditional, specialized, and therapeutic foster parents.
+ Attend Train of Trainers (TOT) as needed to gain understanding of Training requirements and training material
+ Responsible for the knowledge of state specific rules, regulations, and policies related to foster care.
+ Lending expertise in developing potential and existing foster parents in understanding the needs of the youth entering foster care, the expectation of mentoring primary families and the goal of reunification of youth with the primary family.
+ Collaborates with organization and state leadership to implement/support foster care model trainings.
+ Maintains all the necessary documentation required by the National Youth Advocate Program.
+ Actively participates in the regular supervision process as scheduled.
+ Travels as needed to collaborate with regional and national employees.
+ Other duties as needed
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ **Ohio Residence required -OR- Authorized to provide services in Ohio**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field or equivalent preferred.
+ Highly skilled in presenting and public speaking.
+ Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license as required and acceptable by state or contract regulations.
+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

+ Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
+ Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
+ Must be comfortable with public speaking.
+ Consistently exercises discretion and independent judgement. Readily confers with supervisor in complex or unique situations.
+ Demonstrated ability to coach others, transferring knowledge and information in easily understandable terms.
**Driving and Vehicle Requirements**
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Reliable personal transportation
+ Good driving record
+ Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,00/$300,000 bodily injury liability
