Where You Will Work   

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description

Under general supervision, provide expertise and leadership in scheduling and prioritizing contracting activities at assigned site. Oversee safety, quality, and performance of outside service contractors. Serve as site expert and Company representative, interfacing with contractors and multiple disciplines within the company on contracting activities.

 

Perform contracting activities through the administration of contract requests, participating in sourcing activities and award recommendations, onboarding and offboarding of contractors, and issuing routine correspondenceEnsure contracts assigned are maintained and updated and that the payment methods are in place to ensure prompt payment to contractorsReview and approve invoices for correctness and accuracy of contractor workLead and drive collaborative sourcing efforts with stakeholders in outsourcing activities to include, but not limited to, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, development of scopes of work, and contractor performance activitiesEstablish and monitor planned contractor schedules for plant/equipment within assigned area; review and assist in prioritizing work schedules; review and report on contracting budgets and run rates mitigating any potential risksMonitor and report safety, health, and environmental requirements; ensure manpower and work force skills are adequate and quality standards are metUtilize tools and resources in communicating contractor requirements and follow up on contractor work quality and completionMaster a working knowledge of Company’s contracting standards, programs, and goalsPerform other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of specific experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment, ORHigh School diploma or GED and four (4) years related experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment including specific Planning experience, ORBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related field, with no experience requiredWorking knowledge of contracting activities

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with, (CAS), Contract Administration System Deadline compliance with multitasking skillsProficient with Microsoft ApplicationsStrong communication and teamwork skillsExperience with ISNetworldExperience managing over $1M in contractors spendProject Management experience, including: bidding, bid analysis, and bid selection

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $64,000-$87,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
