Contract Analyst

Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.


To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Contract Analyst located in Blackburn OR Kendal, England.

Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor, the Contract Analyst will work closely with the sales teams, Contracts Manager, Legal Counsel and wider business, leading on contract formation and administration for numerous, bespoke contracts.

What a typical day looks like:

Log, track and mark-up incoming draft contracts and similar commercial matters

Hold workshop calls with clients to review and agree contract amendments

Highlight to Contracts Manager risk areas for liabilities and onerous T&Cs

Review contractual scope demarcation between the Business and the client

Validate contract billing procedure and provide milestone billing scheme proposals where relevant

Prepare demarcation of scope and price between purchase order for equipment and subcontract for services

Liaise with Sales Team, Contracts Manager, Legal Counsel and Business signatories to progress contracts to the point of execution

Liaise with Sales Admin Team in the setting up of new contracts on the ERP system

Review client PO T&Cs and negotiate modified T&Cs where needed

Advise colleagues on T&Cs for Master Supply Agreements, Framework Agreements etc.

Advise Projects team on compliance with Site Instructions, Variations Claims and similar contractual procedures

Assist colleagues in preparing and issuing contractual notices (early warning notice, extension of time and losses claim, etc.)

Advise Projects Managers with review and interpretation of contractual T&Cs

Prepare and issue Works Suspension Notices to support overdue debt recovery

Support the resolution of commercial disputes (negotiated settlements, adjudication, arbitration, etc.)

Liaise with colleagues to obtain documents for renewals of insurances

Provide occasional support to Sales Team for processing tender submissions

Support Projects team and Buyers for dealing with queries on Vendor T&Cs

Provide occasional task cover for other members of the QS team

Support the ongoing development of contracting processes, tools and team knowledge

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar

Strong experience in contract formation and administration

Ideally from a Legal or QS background with a commercial focus

Sector experience within critical power would be advantageous, engineering or construction would also be beneficial

Strong negotiation skills

Highly organised and an effective communicator
