Job Title: Contract Administrator

Job Description

Join a dynamic team involved in the renovation of a significant heritage site in Ottawa. This project aims to house the Supreme Court and requires a contract administrator to lead day-to-day construction administration, ensuring compliance with design specifications and facilitating communication among stakeholders. This role provides an opportunity to work on a $500 million project involving government entities and large contractors, offering valuable experience in architecture and construction.

ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day construction administration including site reviews, reporting, and interpretation of contract documents.Monitor construction progress, identify issues, and proactively communicate concerns to the project team.Review and process contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, progress billings, and change orders in collaboration with the design team.Prepare and issue architectural field reports, deficiency lists, and construction logs on a regular basis.Conduct on-site quality control to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and performance standards.Facilitate communication between the client, contractor, and design team to support efficient resolution of site issues.Represent the design team at site meetings, tracking action items and ensuring follow-through.Support the Project Architect with documentation, contract conformance, and milestone inspections.Assist in the preparation and coordination of supplemental sketches and construction clarifications.Ensure that work aligns with project goals, budgets, timelines, and sustainability objectives.Essential SkillsSecurity clearance eligibility (Reliability clearance).Experience with construction projects valued at $10 million or more, related to buildings/facilities.Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork attributes.Senior level of experience as a Contract Administrator (7-10+ years of experience).Ability to be on-site 5 days a week in Ottawa.Additional Skills & QualificationsHeritage site/building experience.Justice/courthouse experience.Strong document control experience.Work Environment

The position requires 5 days per week on-site in Ottawa, with a 40-hour workweek. The work environment is collaborative and focused on achieving the project's goals efficiently. The role involves significant interaction with a multi-disciplinary team committed to sustainable practices and excellence.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
