The Role:Sandvik Zimbabwe is seeking a motivated Contracts Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Site (Service) Accountant, to play a crucial role in contract performance, the cost and accounts receivable, insights into our various service contracts. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial processes and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Key Performance Areas:
Assist in the service contracts and EQ finance department, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.Support the service contracts in detailed analysis and control of service contract costs.Assist in service contract sales analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.Collaborate with the service and other contracts management team, workshop operations, and maintenance team to provide advice on cost control and profitability.Participate in the monitoring of internal controls for service and EQ in accordance with the organizational internal controls.Track and monitor contracts costs, analyse variances, identify cost reduction opportunities, and prepare timely and accurate cost reports.Maintain accurate data in relevant systems, generate reports, provide data analysis, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.Effectively communicate and collaborate between workshops, customers, and other internal departments.Regular monthly customer visits to resolve outstanding items and chase for collections.Support the accurate invoicing of service customers and contribute to the timely collection of revenue. Ensuring collection of overdue amounts and/or as per payment plansAssist in the preparation and issuance of invoices to customers.Monitor and track payments received from customers.Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.Communicate with customers regarding their accounts, resolving any discrepancies or issues.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.Qualification:
Degree in Financial Accounting, Finance or a similar qualification.Professional Qualification like ACCA, CIMA and CA qualification is a significant advantage.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar finance role.Technical Competence:
Proficiency in business management and accounting software.Experience with Power BI and BPC is highly desirable.Sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.Behavioural Competence:
