Job Description
(This is a 12 month contract).
This position is responsible for meeting the logistics needs of the company. This includes coordinating freight services at the lowest cost to the company, analysing freight and brokerage costs, managing carrier relationships. Review processes and procedures to ensure work instructions and SOP are accurate and up to date.
Job Duties Prepare and monitor all transportation requests to ensure the most cost effective and dependable carrier is selected for domestic export and import shipments. Preparation of spot quotes, bill of lading and any documents required for export and import custom clearance. Schedule pickups and delivery appointments and ensure the communication and execution of the shipments across multiple Olympus sites. Active role in freight Audit and Payment by acting as a liaison between Olympus departments Olympus carriers and the third party freight payment provider. Process all PO.s related to logistics/transportation. Ensure that orders are not duplicated. Primary role in carrier/vendor management including bids and proposals analysis RFQ's daily operations, scorecards and KPIs. Analysis of freight charges and brokerage fees per quarter and annual. Arrange and lead QBR/MBR meetings with transportation companies. Active role in ensuring that required transportation and legal documentation and overall transportation and logistics business agreements are maintained and archived according to the company policies. Checks receiving documents to make sure that all purchased items are received correctly. File claims for all damaged or lost shipments with appropriate carrier. Communicate with all carriers to track and monitor any shipments in transit with discrepancies communicated to you internal or external. Identify issues and create continuous process improvements in order to provide positive impact and efficiency gains to the overall operation of the business. Create and provide documents for all exports including Performa invoices FCC and B13 forms where applicable. Liaison with both US OAI and Canadian Customs Broker and maintain export and import files. Back up for warehouse functions when required including but not limited to receiving inspections cycle counting picking packing and manifesting. Assist or lead in special projects as business requires. Adheres to all company policies procedures SOPs and WIs. All other essential related duties a required. Job QualificationsRequired:
High School diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience (with degree) or 7 years of experience (without degree) in Logistics and/or Transportation activities.
Preferred:
Interpersonal communication skills in both verbal and writing Exceptional analytical Skills required. Knowledge of Import and Export, Proficiency in MS Office applications. Competencies: Acting Decisively, Detail Oriented, Proactive and Able to Multitask, Acting with integrity. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and to communicate requirements to departmental teams. Following process and procedures, Knowledge of export/import customs compliance Working with diverse populations. Frequently lift/carry 40 lbs. Stand sit walk 8 hours a day.Why join Olympus?

The anticipated starting base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is , plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
