MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors, and PGTI, is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. In this role, you will facilitate CI/Lean Manufacturing training and activities throughout the plant while serving as the Subject Matter Expert on Continuous Improvement. This person will help cultivate a culture of Continuous Improvement and its activities within the focused factory. Additionally, the CI Specialist facilitates projects aimed at generating cost savings, increasing profits, achieving efficiency gains, and enhancing process performance improvements, providing efficient leadership and cost-effective integration of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools to sustain operational excellence. Pay Range: 61k - 76k, depending on experience Responsibilities Leads Continuous Improvement projects, cost reductions, and process/performance improvementsMaintains CI implementation schedules for assigned projects & progress updates as required and provides documentation that demonstrates the direct link between the CI process implementation and Plant Operations improvementsProvides and/or supports CI training and coaching at all levels of the plantSupports production, supply chain, quality control, and executive leadership through improvement initiativesInterfaces with facility leadership on projects addressing staffing, manpower, time, and capacity analysisCalculates cost reductions and determines the optimal problem-solving methodAccountable for tracking all CI Projects and reporting progress to plant staffWorks with process owner to develop value stream maps for each process and each value stream family within the facilityUtilizes the concepts of continuous improvement and cost reduction in the execution of the job functionThis job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities or working conditions associated with the position Supervisory ResponsibilityThere may be direct reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience5+ years operations experience in a similar environment requiredAbility to think creatively and proactively propose solutions with an attention to detail. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or Process Improvement SkillsWorking towards Black Belt or Master Black Belt certificationAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to effectively facilitate meetings and drive change management across teamsBasic knowledge of window-based software preferredBasic knowledge of Microsoft programs preferred (specifically Outlook, Word and Excel) About Us
