We are recruiting for a Continous Improvement Manager AKA 'MDI Manager' in our Whittlesey plant. This is a 12 month FTC starting ASAP!
The position is responsible for developing, coordinating, coaching, and executing our Manufacturing Operating System, MDI “McCain Driving Impact” within a manufacturing environment. MDI is a common way to run McCain’s manufacturing plants that drives results by investing in our people’s capabilities. In partnership with the Plant Manager, the MDI Manager will steward the program at a site level, ensuring effective deployment, sustainment and maturation of the program’s defined standards across all ten elements.

You will understand and ensure that MDI standards and systems are adhered toBe the primary manager to coordinate McCain MDI deploymentsProviding input on overall element implementation plans across sites in service of respective regional deployment plans • Own and embed a culture of continuous improvement and standardization through effective change management and program stewardshipMentor all members of factory team to ensure production standards understood and sustained.Ensures process execution according to the defined standards through the coordination of health checks and maturity assessments across the sitesTake ownership by Training and coaching Line Centric Leadership Team members on MDI principlesYou will share McCain’s best practices across other sites and leverages other site learnings via Element GovernanceDevelop the site leadership team to increase maturity of their respective elements in a 24x7 factory environmentCoach our operators, techs and site leadership on Daily Direction Setting meetings and other management systems (expect significant amount of time dedicated to coaching on the floor to build capability)Coordinate the MDI Program and Element Governance process within site and regionProvide solutions and recommendations when navigating implementation challenges or setbacks to ensure sustainment and maturation of the programYou will serve as Site Element Owner for select elements, as defined by the Plant Leadership Team
ABOUT YOU
Experience leading and coaching shop floor teamsYou will bring broad, cross-functional knowledge (e.g., operations, maintenance, quality)Demonstrate a good analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to drive insights Be able to show us your ability to overcome ambiguous and complex situationsBring direction and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutionsProven presentation and communication skills with stakeholders of all seniority levelOrganizational and prioritization skills focusedExperienced in using and understanding of Lean Production System principles and methodologiesAbility to implement basic change management strategies and principlesA Team player with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well, influence effectively and communicate with others
Location.
You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant. With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
